Hi, from your photos, I'm assuming you might either be Filipino, or you frequent the Philippines.

Either way, you might be interested to know about the opening of Game Crab Boardgame Cafe (target date is middle of April), located at the 2nd floor of FBR Building, Loyola Heights, Katipunan, Quezon City (above Yellow Cab -- across Ateneo).

Game Crab is patterned from the likes of Mind Cafe, Settlers, etc., from Germany, Korea, Japan and Singapore. We carry boardgames like World of Warcraft, Cashflow, Descent, Cranium, Zertz, Settlers of Catan, Quiddler, Scrabble and MORE (as we continually try to update our boardgame base with the latest, craziest, zaniest, queerest, rarest and best games)! We try to ensure that we are able to cater to young adults, families, casual gamers and hardcore gamers alike!

We'll also be hosting monthly tournaments and weekly night of champions. And we'll be serving great tasting yet affordable meals as well! So please come visit us as we look to further expand the horizons of boardgaming here in the Philippines! We'll be uploading our own site soon, but for now, to know more, you might wanna visit http://www.tabletopwars.com. Thanks.

-------------------

To stay on topic though: It's a pity about Gary Gygax. But at least, he's going as a legend.

Erik, it was bound to be the case no?

Mary, I feel good knowing that I have something in common with you. Besides the boardgaming that is. :)

That's so cool, Rick, I had to take the test myself. Strangely enough, I got the same result even though I don't think it describes me at all. I think being a stay-at-home wife and mother had something to do with it; I don't worry about alarm clocks or schedules; if I don't feel like dusting, I don't. Anyway, thanks for the fun quiz.

I ended up comparing it to Omega Man, the "classic". This is ended up being a mistake as I found I Am Legend to be lacking in substance and actually less thought provoking compared to its Charlton Heston predecessor.

Cultist vs. Zombie comparison = Cultist wins hands down as it fits the genre in a much tighter role.

CGI was eye candy, as expected; the focus on Will Smith's "alone-ness" was a nice touch; but in the end it failed to bring about the grit and bite i was looking to experience from a post apocalyptic type of flick.

I concur with Rick's two star rating - at the very least the movie made me want to scrounge around for a copy of Omega Man! Lol!

I came at this one from the opposite direction; I went into it assuming that it was a brainless action movie—the only reason I even went was that there was nothing better that I hadn't seen already—and I was impressed by how much time and energy had gone into depicting the psychology of the last man on Earth. That plus the amazing "deserted New York" visuals made it worthwhile for me. It's not saying much, but for a big-budget mainstream CGI action picture, I thought it was halfway decent.

Compared to the National Treasure sequel it was friggin' Lawrence of Zombie Arabia.
